Chalk downland and beech woodland on Clanfield's doorstep — walking, cycling and riding trails, a visitor centre and Butser Hill.
Queen Elizabeth Country Park sits immediately next to Clanfield and is one of the main reasons the village is so popular with walkers. The park covers a large area of chalk downland and beech woodland in the South Downs National Park, rising to Butser Hill — one of the highest points on the South Downs — and the wooded slopes of War Down and Holt Down.
There are waymarked walking, cycling and horse-riding trails, a visitor centre, picnic areas and a café. The South Downs Way and other long-distance paths run through the park, and its network of forest tracks makes it a year-round destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts on Clanfield's doorstep.
The park borders the undeveloped downland to the north and east of Clanfield, land that forms part of the South Downs National Park surrounding the village on three sides.
